Education History:
M.D. Candidate, Bursa Uludag University

Emir is a fifth year medical student from Turkey. Before joining the Center, he was a visiting student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Media Lab, where he worked on a non-invasive multimodal brain computer interface and helped design and implement a study to test the system in-the-wild. Previously, at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Clinical Neurotechnology Lab, he worked on a novel neuromodulation method for altering functional connectivity in the sensorimotor cortex by stimulating peripheral nervous system. At his home university, he developed a patented assistive-rehabilitative device for daily use of an extended population with impaired hand functions. Here in the Berenson-Allen Center, he will be gaining experience with scientific and clinical non-invasive brain stimulation applications.

Personal Goals:
Emir aspires to become a psychiatrist and investigate novel methodologies to advance our understanding of neuropsychiatric disorders.
